Hi yes, the prices are terrible. I got a used 1.25. I think for a plus
magnification the Chinese ones might be OK. Not so for the .85 I believe.
But if you think those Leica magnifier prices are bad, take a look at the
prices for the new external viewfinders. Yikes!
I didn't think it was possible to make finders more expensive than the Zeiss
ones. I was wrong ;-( 
Makes the Voigtlanders look attractive.

Maike Harbets speaks on the S2. .... So we will drop down this technology to
our other systems.
Our priority is to modernise the R system which will be in the end an R10,
definitely.

I agree with the improvement using the 1.25 ( I do not have a 1.4, but
believe it will work as well....)

However, the 1.4 costs as much as almost any other manufacturer's SLR 50mm
lens.... !

I guess glass is glass at Leica...

The magnifiers are VERY helpful with critical DoF on the 50 and up wide open
as well.
