The fact that it was a half hour from my final destination seemed too good to be true. Portland Oregon. The gorge route on the Oregon side is about one 5th as nice. Its too fast too big a highway and the views are nowhere near as nice you cant pull over. The Columbia River Gorge competes with ANY spot in the US. But you have to be on the right side of the river. And the Oregon side ain't it. For the most part. Expect for the waterfalls. I guess you gotta hit both.
