Any LUGgers in the DC/Philly/NYC region using an Epson R-D1? (I can
hear the gasp from the LUG now as I write.) I'm going to have to get a
digital body for school next fall and figure I'll start doing my
homework while I save up.
I'd rather stick with a rangefinder as I can save a significant amount
of money by using glass I already own. Were I to invest in a good Canon
or Nikon SLR body and lenses which match the specs of my RF lenses, I'd
be up in the cost of an M8 on a completely new system. It only makes
sense for me to go with the R-D1 or an M8.
What I'm wondering is if there are any relatively local LUGgers whom I
might buy lunch for in exchange to get my hands on the R-D1 to see if
I'd like using the camera, if my lenses mount/focus properly.
Not in a rush at all as this is in preparation for fall '09.
