This does not compute...... I use a PC.
I think it may be a conflict in the driver/s, not the Application......
It may have something to do with the Twain stuff......

the vuscan software does not use the nikon software, i am using it on vista
64 without any nikon software installed, so redoing the os might not work.

if you want a clean os, try the Microsoft virtual PC for free, install it
(and then xp) see if it works. i think they suppourt ubs in virtual pc -
download from ms

Nikon is pretty useless.... I need to call them to be sure there is no
workaround, but my experience with these kinds of problems is that you are
on your own......No one wants to help debug an OS issue....

You forgot to mention.... blunt and PAINFUL!

I tried to remove And re-install the Nikon SW, including the driver......
No luck.

I just hate lose all the time it takes to do this right! An OS Re-do is a
big task..... Physically Replacing the HDD is the easy part.......

OTOH, a fresh OS is a big performance boost......

Frank that is the blunt instrument approach but will likely work. Spend a
few minutes on Google first.

Thanks.... that is what I thought.....
So somewhere, I have some form of contaminated/broken driver....

I think I will have no choice but to reinstall WIN XP and start over......
It has been a year since my last OS re-do, so maybe I am overdue
anyway......

I know for sure that XP can handle multiple scanners, including a Nikon
and
an Epson flatbed since that's what I have....

Nope.. no neg carrier at all... this is strips directly.......

The other installed SW is for an Epson V700 scanner.......and Epson
Scan SW......
And Vuescan.

It just acts like a driver problem..... This stuff was all working
before, and something "broke".
