I'm putting together a Leica lens kit for use on a DSLR and I may get a 
60/2.8 as a normal lens. It all depends on how well the two R lenses I 
already have work on a D700. 

I had a fairly extensive R system but sold it all a few years back. If I'd 
known that the R lenses could be converted to F mount, I wouldn't have sold 
them. Several companies make good camera bodies. But only one company makes 
lenses like Leica, IMHO.
