Hi Geoff,
Only vaguely but a similar system is in Nikon's Capture NX2 (dust off)  
but that only works with NEF.
I guess I will have to experiment with the alternatives. Sigh!

about 2/3rds of the way through the Lynda tutorial.

you could be right - but as you mention - each frame is not identical.

The Nikon D700, the Oly E3 and the Pana G1 all have antidust systems.  
The filter in front of the sensor is what vibrates not the sensor  
itself.
Its called a piezoelectric element on the Nikon and supersonic wave  
filter on the G1 and E3. If the descriptions mean anything then  
antistatic
plus vibrations are applied to the Nikon filter and supersonic  
vibrations to the E3 and G1filters.

I hope such a system shows up in the R10 and the M9 but somehow doubt  
that they will. We can only wait and see. I am prepared to be proven  
wrong.

Except for the S2 perhaps the difference is that the digital backs can  
be taken off and cleaned like the DMR.
Although I admit my comments here are beyond my experience and  
competence.
