Ted, Lee, and others,

When I first got my M8, I found that my exposures were way off and the M8
meter did not act as all my other Leica cameras and even my old Nikon F3. ?I
tried using + and - exposure compensation, and found washed out exposures
all the time with the + values used. ?With the - exposure compensation used
the images were much better, and ?although on the dark side, I could easily
get what I wanted using C1 or PSE with minor corrections. ?For most
exposures, I use no compensation, but there are times when - compensation
does indeed save exposures and eliminate washing out the highlights. ?Like
you Ted, I am a bit mystified by this Histogram stuff, and do not understand
just how to use it. ?I do know what works for me, and -1/3 EV seems to be
the best solution for me.

Cheers,
