Well, I don't know about the sapphire screen, but the sapphire crystal on my 
Rolex has held up against hits bangs and other rough handling with not a 
single chip or scratch in over 18 years. ?I would expect the same of the 
sapphire screen on the Leica and other cameras that use them.?
