I agree. And, best of all, it's very easy to set up.
I've got a long list of LUG stuff that would be interesting if only I had 
the time to do it.  This is an after-dinner effort, I think.

The only hard part will be choosing and announcing the monthly assignment. 
And I would REALLY prefer not to be the person who does that.
