Thanks Gene,

I'm not sure what the food prices are like today, but in 2003 I also 
found Milan a very reasonably priced and very good place to eat (though 
Pisa was cheaper and better). The only place to be avoided was an Indian 
restaurant just around the corner from the Porta Venezia - absolute 
rubbish.  (but of course it was my mistake  wanting to eat a Vindaloo in 
Italy).
