Instead of a huge Yuban coffee can monster Nikon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto
AF-S Zoom Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AutoFocus Lens which weights 2 pounds and
has a 77 mm filter size and is 5.2" long in front of your farily modest
sized D700 body dwarfing it try putting a 28mm 2.8 on it (21 x 1.33 = 27.93
) which takes a 52mm filter size and weights 0.43 lb and sticks out and
inch and a half and see how much that intimidates people.
Anybody can turn their DSLR into a monster.

I find a normal lens on a normal camera you get normal intimidation.
A monster lens in front of a normal camera you get monster intimidation.

There are no lenes one fifth the size of a 24-70mm which you can fit on a
Leica M
so blame the nikon camera body for the monster lens you go out and buy.
