Thanks for your question, Philippe... The negs are transparent where the 
blackened areas appear in the prints...

A link to two troubled prints is below...

The edge of the blacked out area would appear to be the edge of the shutter, 
right?

Could  the discrepancy in size of the blackened areas be a function of the 
speed selected for each shot?

Doug suggested that the shutter is "capping" ... and a CLA as the cure....
