Subject: [Leica] Modified R lenses

Here's a link to 3 recent images taken with 90/2.8 and 28/2.8 R lenses
on a D700. These images were resized only.

I've done real world comparisons of the R lenses versus a number of
non-R lenses. I can summarize my findings in one comment. Leica lenses
-- even the older ones -- are special.

Using R lenses on a D700 has minor quirks, but is pretty seamless.
Obviously it's not for people who are wedded to autofocus, as a lot of
people are today it seems.

I do use the focus assist quite often, and I like it. I'm constantly
amazed at the high ISO performance of the D700. It's a nice combination
when both camera and lens are designed to perform well in low light.
