I do remember this going through the LUG several years ago......

As I remember it, USPS did x-ray, the commercial carriers did not.  ( Fed
Ex, UPS, etc.)

However, I think that right now ( mid-2009) no mail is going through X-ray
unless you are sending it to Congress  ( Washington DC) or other "sensitive"
addresses.  Cost - benefit ratio is in effect here.

DAMHIKT.

I am currently waiting for a package sent from Oz to me.... 2 weeks later,
no package.  I suspect it went "surface" mail.  ( Boat!)

I wonder if USPS does ground route to down under, and if it would arrive
this year.



I believe that if is going in an aircraft it has to be x-rayed. I hope  
so anyway, otherwise bombing a plane would be sublimely easy.
