For us old-timers, tonight we can commemorate James Earl Carter's
crisis of confidence speech, televised live July 15, 1979.

This was back in those simpler times when Americans were hitting 
their Websters' to look up "malaise"

I was between High School and Columbia, that lazy period between
SATs and College applications, and the intimidating prospect of
freshman year at the big school in the big city.

I never made photos back then and didn't even own a camera.
