Subject: [Leica] Olympus E-P1 and Leica lenses with adapter

Thanks for the heads-up... Do the Panasonic adapters have electronics that
would allow focus assist with the E-P1 (i.e. fooling it into thinking an M43
lens was mounted), or does the G1 have focus assist regardless of electrical
contact with the lens?

Thanks

An update regarding Leica M to Micro 4/3 adapters:

The Voigtlander M to M4/3 adapter does not permit the use of the Dual Range
Summicron 50/2.0: when mounted, the lens will not focus beyond 3m. The
focusing mechanism binds with the adapter and renders the lens for close
range use only.

The Panasonic Leica M to Micro 4/3 adapter has no such problem, not to
mention it is noticeably better built.

Thus I believe the Voigtlander adapter has a design defect that should be
rectified.
