This is why flash in the macro area gets needed and used by people who
before their interest in macro would never dream of it.
As not only do you have NOTHING in focuse stopped down a couple with macro
but your hand held shutter speed rule in macro also goes out the window.
Shooting a 60th of a second with a 60 macro gives you nothing.
And 125th still leaves you fuzzy.

A flash gives you phantasmagorical in effect shutter speeds and you get to
stop down to 11 or 16 and get a thicker sliver.
Both very much needed.
Put it on a TTL cord and go to down.
