Nicely captured Mark.

A breed of their own - soot, coal dust and oil - and an addiction to 
hot, sweet tea by the gallon.

They look a little cleaner when starting a run:

are happy in their work (voluntary though it generally is)

and are always ready for a chat about steam pressures, pistons and 
cylinders, fireboxes and grates......

Traction engine drivers are similar, but tend to drink beer and sit 
around in damp fields.
