True, VAT accounts for 15% of the difference in the quoted price. The laws 
about price fixing are similar in EC. IME most things lawyers get involved 
in tend to get more expensive, paticularly in countries where lawyer 
remuneration tends to be high!

It has always amazed me that I have to pay 50 to 100% more for the same item
than an American, I don't know why it is...
