Subject: [Leica] A new tri-elmar soon?

My E55 worked on my M4.? It works on my M5.? It worked on my 1985 M6.? It
worked on my 1998 M6HM.? It works on my M8.? Depending on conditions, the
recessed front element might not need a lens hood.? I have never needed or
wanted the zig-zag DOF markings.? I can't think of any reason not to use the
E55 version...

I will say the obvious.... Get ?a E55 Tri Elmar for half that cost....

The E55 is the same optical design, but different mechanical design.
I have an E55 and find it reliable, and it works like it should.
