Not so dumb on the part of Leica management was it?

 

On recent lens formulas, you'll have to either code the non-Leica lens to 
match the similar Leica len's code, buy a coded Leica lens or take your 
chances.

 

I still think Leica could make some cash doing custom lens profiles and 
coding for M9 users with non-Leica lens.
