I read "the beaten path" has been drastically and suddenly redefined by GPS
the day before yesterday.
People are far less afraid of never been seen again trying to get an apple
orchard on the other side of the hill. Which I guess in the old days used to
happen all the time.
First you run out of gas.

I'd love a camera which told me where I was in the world.
I guess they have them now.

There was even a Sigma point and shoot a few years back I saw where you
press a button and it starts giving you a tour guide description of where
you happen to be. Had a huge database built in. or maybe it grabbed it off a
satellite.
