Yea but the whole thing stank from the get go.
...appears very insincere to me.
But as you say  "perception is everything" but so it timing and context.

To hopefully buy one when they first came up to continue the Leica tradition
against all odds and the cost a fortune but maybe was worth it was one
thing.
To buy it now when the are being closed out, marked down, and standing in
the shadow of the M9 is another.

There will always be people who buy and sell cameras trashing them along the
way... And in effect the people who use them.
A textbook case of passive aggressive behaviour - here today gone tomorrow.
Did we ever see his images?
