You will find the Hewes reels significantly easier to load.....and probably
make your changing bag experience , if not pleasant, at least workable.

You will need to cut off the end of the roll square to the length.... this
allows engagement with their "grippers" for the perforations.
I do this in the dark, using a pair of round nosed surgical ( they were
cheap, and made in Pakistan or India, I forget) scissors.  1 snip is all it
takes and you are set to wind on....

If you try to load without the snip, good luck.... if not impossible, it
might as well be....

Procedure:
Open film can using Church Key ( beer bottle end of a beer can opener)
Cut off tapered end
Unroll film from Kodak spool
Cut off spool from taped end.. I used to just pull the tape off, but this
got messy in the tanks for me...and I did not like the electric sparks it
put out...
Wind on.
