Nathan makes a good point.  I'm sure we've all heard people say "gee you 
ought to be a professional" or "you could sell that picture".
Like Nathan, I have sold a few prints and I have done a couple of 
weddings (which I didn't enjoy, but that's another story).
Personally I wouldn't want to  try and make a living from it. It would 
take away the pleasure I get from taking and printing pictures.
I take pictures for me.  If other people like them, then that's great.
