Couldn't agree more Sonny.
Interesting though;
with enough experience
using the same equipment thousands of times
we don't even need the instant feedback.

When doing client work
(for money)
I still do a lot of histogram checking, chimping and such;
just as I used to use polaroids extensively.

But in my "personal" and "documentary" photography
I've pretty much stopped looking at the screen.
Just like in the old film days; if I got it - I pretty much know I  
got it.

Macro work is another matter.
Here again I'm grateful for the screen;
to refine the composition, lighting
and check for those unwanted movements
of either subject or gear.
