Sad news indeed. A friend once worked in his workshop building the 4x5 
reflexes.
We used to have field trips to various studios when I was at Santa Monica 
City College.
Two that I missed, and regretted afterwards, was Gowland's studio and Julius 
Shulman's studio. Both personally gave their respective tours.
