True enough Bob.
However, while applying more sharpening
does enhance the feeling of sharpness;
it does not (for me) achieve the texture of "fine detail."
It seems that if the "detail" is not there
sharpening cannot create it.

Again these become subjective preferences
and depending on the subject matter
may be extremely subtle.

It became perfectly clear to me
when I put the same Leica lenses
on both the 5D and the DMR
(with each camera locked onto a tripod
and focused on the same subject).

I still enjoy the security
of having the Full Frame 5D
available as backup;
as well as the auto focus C lenses;
and the high ISO performance
when appropriate and needed.

I'm not trying to put down
or slander the Cmos sensors;
only noting the differences
as I actually, subjectively experience them.
