Most of my Friday Flowers for the past few years were indeed shot with the 35 summicron asph. My trick though, is to shoot at about the closest focus of the lens, moving the camera to bring the image into focus with the rangefinder. I then crop the image to suit my composition. The M8 and the 35 can stand quite a lot of crop.
