Peter Krogh talks about this in his DAM books.  I've tried it with my Canon
5D and it's acceptable for a quick scan but doesn't even approach what you
can get with a dedicated film scanner.  The M9 won't focus close enough.  I
use a Beseler slide duplicator and it's quick and easy if you need a quick,
easy scan.
