[Leica] OT: HELP Nikon scanner neophyte

I just installed a firewire card in my computer. Hope it is faster,
but I've noticed the 5000 and 9000 both used USB 2.0, maybe because
it's more universal in PCs? Why else would Nikon go to a slower
throughput system?
