Subject: [Leica] Fresh blooms -not so fresh lens

Just been playing around with some old lenses in the garden.

These are what happen when you put a Steinheil Cassarit 2.8/45 (M39
screw mount but not LTM) from a Braun Paxette on the front end of a DSLR.
The lens was probably built around 1955 (when I was 3 years of age!). It
seems to be doing quite well, although it's very prone to flare and lack
of contrast in some lighting situations.

Fitted directly to a Canon 20D with an M39 to EOS adapter. Aperture set
at f5.6

Hope you like them - I think I'll be keeping this lens.
