Howard,

I'm afraid you have it dead on right.  I was looking at the Nikon's last 
weekend.  I tried the D700 out, but a bit too noisy for me, but the D3s/x 
are probably what I will go for when the R8DMR dies, as they seem quite nice.

Hi Luggers,
About the pronouncements from Leica at Photokina from what I have read  
it seems the R solution is to just ignore it and say nothing about it.
Have I missed an announcement about the R solution? Or is my  
understanding pretty much correct?
