Here is something truly ridiculous from Leica (on Facebook). The ridiculous
part is in the last paragraph--as if anyone actually buys this to use
it...If I were rich, I would buy one as a gift for Tina, but on the
condition that she scoff it within the first 10 minutes of ownership :-)

Each year, for the past 84 years, Neiman Marcus publishes ?The Christmas
Book? with their best gifts for the holidays. They even have a section
dedicated to the most decadent gifts of them all entitled ?Fantasy Gifts.?
This year's fantasy gifts include items that go *vroom* (the 2011 Neiman
Marcus Edition Camaro Convertible), *clink* (a Dale Chihuly pool
installation) and our personal favorite *click*. That click is the Leica M9
Neiman Marcus Edition of which there are only 50 pieces available.

So what makes this edition of the M9 so special? The rugged Leica M body and
matching Summicron-M 35mm f2.0 ASPH lens are finished in silver chrome, and
the body is covered in luxurious brown ostrich leather trim with a matching
ostrich leather strap. It is the world?s smallest digital rangefinder camera
with a full-frame 18 mega-pixel sensor and interchangeable lenses to capture
ultra-high resolution images. The high-resolution 2.5-inch LCD screen is
protected by sapphire cover glass. Each body is numbered and your gift can
be personalized with an engraved signature.

A full suite of Adobe? Photoshop? Lightroom? 3 digital editing software, a
personal letter from Leica CEO Alfred Schopf and certificate of
authenticity, are included. The Leica M9 Neiman Marcus Edition can be
personally delivered by a Leica photography expert, which would also include
a private training and orientation session to introduce new photographers to
the full Leica experience (only available in the continental US).

So if you haven't written your letter to Santa yet, just send him The
Christmas Book from Neiman Marcus and earmark page 43!
