Richard,

If one searches on the Harvard Chinese rubbings website for Sixteen Arhats 
at 
Shengyin Temple, the 3rd Arhat is unnamed, the name Pantaka is given to two 
different Arhats, and the 10th is missing.

I don't know the details of the 18th century mistakes other than the 
hyperlink 
below.
