Subject: [Leica] IMG: Least Bittern

While this isn't one of my best photos it's a very elusive bird species and
I'm delighted to have seen the bird let alone gotten a photo. The Least
Bittern is the smallest of the North American herons, about the size of a
robin or blackbird.

This particular Least Bittern is unusually cooperative and has a regular
feeding area near a public trail. This bird typically feeds mid-morning and
again in mid afternoon and doesn't mind camo-clad photographers at about 10'
distance.

Technical stuff: R8/DMR, 280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R, shoulder stock & monopod,
knee pads. Should have had elbow pads too (belly was well padded).
