I always thought that a great strategy for Leica would be to continue to
develop the M8 crop factor. A bit like both Canon and Nikon have both full
frame and crop format cameras. The lens can be used on either camera and if
they make some minor fixing of the M8 sensor (e.g. eliminate the IR problem)
and sell the package for $4000 or so, they should generate even more sales.

Of course this won't make sense until the M9 supply meets and exceeds the
demand. This two tiered pricing would make sense even when the M10 replaces
the M9.

X series - entry level
M8 series - mid level
M9/M10 series - top level

S2 - stratospheric level
