No M mount camera couples closer than 0.7 M.  The design limits of the
rangefinder mean that the rangefinder won't be accurate any closer
than that.

Do you mean that your 35 Summicron focuses closer than the 0.7 M
distance mark on the lens?  Those marks are only approximate.   Those
lenses only couple to 0.7 M if you measure the film plane to subject
distance.
