The design limits of the rangefinder mean that the rangefinder won't be accurate any closer than that. Do you mean that your 35 Summicron focuses closer than the 0.7 M distance mark on the lens? Those marks are only approximate. Those lenses only couple to 0.7 M if you measure the film plane to subject distance.
