I taught myself to fish in the streams of northern England, Wales and Scotland whilst my Dad and brothers played golf (which bored me sh*tless). I am still too young for golf. Yes, Frankie is quite right, fly fishing is all about walking upstream, mastering the cast, placement of the fly, and the retrieve, and knowing where the fish usually are (near rocks, with a decent, but not too strong, current to carry flies to the hungry fish.
