Subject: [Leica] What film did HCB use?

In 1960 it was HP3 still and it had an ASA of 200 which was upped with no
change to the film in some latter year of which no one wants to tell.

The question is I think when was 400 films were first used and I think it
was the mid 50's with Tri x and HP4 was also available at that time.

http://www.photomemorabilia.co.uk/Ilford/Chronology.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilford_HP

Both sites cite the change of HP3 and or HP4 from 200 to 400 without citing
the exact date this happens.

Here

Its saying that when tri x came out in 1954 it was at ASA 200 and considered
to be the fastest film available.

I'm guessing that in HCB 's neighborhood on the European continent Ilford
films would be a bit more available than Kodak films.
