nothing like indigenous culture to bring joy to local residents.

Here is a slideshow from the weekend's festival here in Miyazaki.  Men
carried one portable shrine, women carried another.  The shrines were
raced, spun, then symbolically clashed: women's into men's.
Later there was a great taiko performance.
