I'm no DIgi-Engineer, but my EE says the processing power ( plus the spec to
not have an AA filter) is the problem....

It takes a bit of processing power to DSP filter....

The M8 has 1 processor, the M9 has 2 of the same.... ( I used to work for
the company that makes the DSP processor chip).....

These are some of the issues... did the original spec call for no AA
filter? Did the processor(s) selected for the price point have sufficient
power to do the job? Was there space inside the camera for all the "stuff"?
Are the lenses for use with the camera of sufficient quality that it makes a
difference?

Keep in mind that the AA filter is probably a pretty cheap solution ( think
in terms of a coating on a piece of glass) ... a second processor is not.

> That sounds like it doesn't have an AA filter. However, if moire can be
eliminated with software, why does any camera have an AA filter?

Do the scientists out there have an answer?
