Each system has its strengths and weaknesses.
My fear is that the contraction of the film market gives us ever-fewer
choices, especially in 120 and 35mm black and white.

Thanks for your comment, Jim. My impression is that film handles harsh
contrast and depth of colour slightly better. My M8 does a marvelous job
with colour, no doubt, and specifically when light is fading, but I have a
hard time getting the same blues and reds and yellows the (very) ancient
IIIC and lens provide! But this is a very partial point of view, I
