The Bell and Howell is really an Angenieux, and I've shot it with my Oly EP1

I think the point of the meter is to get a good overall exposure, since the
field of view of this lens is smaller than the sensor.  That  results in
the internal metering seeing a portion of the frame as black, and exposing
incorrectly, even on aperture preferred.

For what it is worth, the Nikon is a tiny thing, even smaller than a Rollei
35.
Handsome little camera, though.
