"Puddle ducks" a.k.a genus Anas don't need a runway, they can jump straight 
out of the water:

This is a Northern Shoveler, Anas clypeata.  Technical stuff: R8/DMR, 280mm 
f/4 APO, probably 2x APO-Extender-R, shoulder stock & monopod.  All comments 
welcome.
