Hi Vick,

I only recently replaced the Mercury battery in my CL
with an MR9 adapter after the camera had been unused
for about 3 years.

At first, the needle was sticking at various points
along the scale, but after running the battery check
function a few times, it seems to have come unstuck and
now works OK.

Seems like it just needed waking up and being giving a
couple of jogs.

Maybe yours has the same problem.

Cheers
Douglas
