Indeed (and why I went to the M9), it is not just the weight but having the
weight a distance from the camera body. Another lens is heavier but squatter
and is not quite so bad to carry.

True, but just think how much heavier a DSLR would be!!  I agree that the
favorite lens is the one on the camera ;-)
