Exactly what I wrote Mark - the gist of digital is that you can crank  
up the iso and avoid camera shake blur which occurs at different  
settings according to the camera used. A wider ISO range is not just  
about stops and lens limitation, it's also about freezing it sharp.
FYI and as an aside, in steady hands the L1 can remain sharp at 1/4th  
thanks to its laterally swinging mirror and excellent OIS but you're  
right this is another thread.
