If I'm out looking for pictures, I probably have the strap wrapped around my 
wrist, and I'm holding the camera, so I hate straps wider than 1/2".
And even if I'm wearing it on my neck or shoulder, I don't want something 
that dwarfs the camera, and is a billboard to boot.

I posted a photo of my favorite, a leather one called the Strapateer, (but 
not made for probably 30 years).  These can be adjusted for length in 15 
sec.  They were especially handy when I would wear two cameras on my chest, 
with different lenses - one above the other.  The clasp allowed me to wear 
an M3 with collapsible Summicron on my shoulder under my sportcoat, etc. but 
I could release it and use the camera without having to take off the coat.
