A few years ago I represented a fellow who was scheduled for right knee
arthroscopic surgery; his right knee was prepped; he answered all the
questions correctly; and, when he woke up he asked why only his left knee
was bandaged.

When I asked the surgeon why he didn't use the magic marker technique he
said "Because I don't need to".

There's probably a lesson or two there somewhere.
